Activities
Polynesian Airlines Limited (PAL) is composed of two separate companies, Polynesian Limited (PL) and Polynesian Airlines (Investments) Limited (PAIL).
PL provides short haul passenger and cargo carriage services between Samoa and American Samoa and on-demand charter services to the big island of Savaii and other neighboring island countries such as Niue, Tonga and Wallis & Futuna. Other key components of the PL’s business include the provision of ground handling services for Air New Zealand and Fiji Airways and non-commercial operators flying into Faleolo International Airport and General Sales Agency services for Virgin Samoa in Samoa and Virgin Australia in Tonga.
PAIL owns and operates the Fagalii Airport.
PAL is subject to the:
- Companies Act 2001
- Public Bodies (Performance and Accountability) Act 2001
- Public Bodies (Performance and Accountability) Amendment Act 2015
- Public Bodies (Performance and Accountability) Act Regulations 2002 and
- Composition of Boards of Public Bodies Act 2012.
PAL is governed by a board of directors that is responsible to the Minister of Public Enterprises.
